International Network

Over the years, Sloka has gained the support and confidence of the international Waldorf Community. “The Friends of Rudolf Steiner Education” based out of Germany, along with the Goetheanum in Basel, Switzerland have been instrumental in helping Sloka receive trained Waldorf teachers and mentors from Europe and USA to work with our teachers. These organizations also conduct conferences on Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy in different countries and extend part sponsorship to Sloka teachers to enable them to attend these important conferences. Recently, with the help of “The Friends of Rudolf Steiner Education”, Sloka was able to get a generous grant for the purchase of our campus. With their continued guidance and support, we hope to be able to establish, along with the other Waldorf Schools in India, the first Waldorf Teacher Training College in India.

With the help of the “Friends of Waldorf Education”, our high school children were able to participate in the UNESCO World Youth Festival held in Stuttgart, Germany in July 2009. Sloka was the only school from India to attend this festival. Students from many different countries came together to discuss and ponder over important issues like Climate and Energy. The festival’s aim was to promote international understanding, hospitality and the intercultural dialogue, encouraging young people to form personal contacts, spanning links of friendships and networks around the globe and highlighting global contexts.
